After many grey days, Monday December 19 had potential to turn out a little bit of sun, and so I planned to get an early start and see VIA's Northern Quebec service (combined train no. 601/603) leaving Gare Centrale at 7:30. If there were no clouds this would be just after sunrise, so I opted for the curve at Pointe-St-Charles, to have nothing in the way that would block the sun... if there was any. As it turned out - a low layer of clouds was effectively blocking out the sun, and it would stay like this for most of the morning.
